Back online after 2 "dark" days. Day 7 highlights - will try to do some more detailed catch up and SmugMug uploads soon. Rain heaviest to date - the usual on/off/on - we're getting used to shifting into rain mode (not that we're liking it). The hills keep rolling, and seem to be getting bigger (I'm writing this on the day 9 - the get MUCH bigger).
For all the moose signs, we have yet to see one (and we're looking ay).
The rain gratiously stopped when we hit Dawson Creek, so we were able to get photos (Snuzzles hat represented). Excitement building - we made the Alaska Highway...
A new road denizon - one we will encounter more of (Day 9 hindsight) is dust. P-Rock getting a faceful here.
An then there was the hotel/lodge - P-Rock described this - my word - "interesting"...
First mosquitos encountered in quantity as we rolled in - they are as fierce as they say. As if to prove that point, we awoke (Day 8) to 32 degrees and frost on the bike covers. Even in those conditions, we were eaten up while loading. Like the TV Series of the same name, mosquitos are "Tougher In Alaska".
Side note - oil loss is down to zero, and a lingering highway peg problem has been patched.
Roll on - Blackie out.
